Since graduating, Erica has worked at a busy mixed animal practice in Jimboomba, and a busy small animal practice in Springfield. She has a keen interest in surgery and spends a lot of time outside of work studying from some of the best surgeons in South East Queensland. While surgery is her special interest, Erica loves all part of general practice.¬† She strives to provide an ‚Äėall-around‚Äô approach to her work, and values being able to provide the best care for her patients in all circumstances.

When Erica isn’t working or studying, she can often be found enjoying snuggles from her two cats, Hamish and Rory, and catching up on the latest sci-fi shows. You may also find her at the rifle range or at the gym working on her Aerial Silks performances.

‚ÄčIn her spare time, Kylie loves spending time with her young family, baking delicious treats and making personalised gifts and home decor for her small hobby business. Kylie‚Äôs extended ‚Äėfur family‚Äô consists of ‚ÄėEllie‚Äô and ‚ÄėJimmy‚Äô (two Border Collie crosses) and ‚ÄėTipsy‚Äô and ‚ÄėTurvy‚Äô, two cheeky ginger rescue cats!¬†

Anna Hollingsworth

Melanie started veterinary nursing in 2005, and gained her experience and knowledge working in emergency and small animal practices on the Gold Coast and Scenic Rim.  She loves all aspects of being a veterinary nurse and has a special interest in nutrition.  When she is not at work you can find her at the gym, riding horses, camping, spending time with her 2 young children and 2 dogs Рbusy and loving any outdoor adventure!

Brooke Thompson

Brooke is a qualified veterinary nurse and has been working within general practice over the last 6 years. Brooke has always had a soft spot for rescue animals or those who need that extra love – her special interest is caring for the ones with anxiety or separation anxiety. Brooke has a great interest in post-operative and ongoing care for complex cases, and enjoys treating every furry friend like her own baby.

Brooke has recently achieved a massive accomplishment for herself and our team! She has gained her Radiation Use License, which now means that we have an extra person in the clinic aside from the vets who can take care of our patient x-rays.

When Brooke isn’t with us at work she is¬†busy at home with her two little girls and husband swimming, camping or building little projects around their acreage property. Brooke has two fur babies: Kasey the Staffy and Roxy the Boxer X – her rescue girl.¬†

Tiffany Murray

Veterinary Technician

Tiffany has been vet nursing since 2006. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Queensland – majoring in Veterinary Technology. She grew up in Brisbane and can’t imagine calling anywhere but Queensland home.

Tiffany has spent most of her career working in general practice, but has also spent time in Emergency & Specialist clinics. She is passionate about the client and patient journey in the vet clinic, and has a special interest in caring for hospital patients. Seeing a patient recover and go home to their families is one of the most rewarding things you can experience as a vet nurse.

On her days off you’ll find Tiffany enjoying the great outdoors camping or soaking up the sun at the beach. She has two¬†fur babies at home called Kofu (dog) and Missy (her cat). She has recently had an addition to their household – her daughter, beautiful baby Paige!

Tiffany will be returning from her parental leave later on this year.

Isabella Fogo

Veterinary Nurse

Isabella started her nursing career in 2010 as an aged care nurse. She soon realised she loved nursing but not for humans! In 2014, she began her journey to becoming a vet nurse!

I’ve been a qualified vet nuse for a new years now. I love my unusual pets and have an interest in emergency cases.

Although I’m in GP practise for our fur babies my favourite animal is a shark and I hope one day I get to free dive with the great whites down in Port Lincoln SA.

Shakirra Newman

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Shakirra is currently a second-year vet student at the University of Queensland and will be undergoing some vet nurse duties to kick-start her career in the industry. She has always had a passion for helping animals and loves seeing sick animals rejuvenate and be able to return home! Her special interest is cardiology, although she loves to learn about all aspects of patient care! Shakirra is excited to join the team and get to know all the local pets who visit our clinic. She currently owns a very excited and energetic Border Collie named Patch.

When she is not working (or studying!) you can find her camping, at the beach or spending time with Patch on any new outdoor adventures.

Emily Lawson

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Emily is a third-year veterinary technician student studying at the University of Queensland. She has always had a passion for exotic and wildlife animals. Em has a keen interest in emergency and critical care patients but most importantly Рseeing animals returning home safe and well.

When she is not studying/working Em enjoys going to the gym and travelling to new places.  She currently has 2 dogs, Molly and Milo, as well as a Galah named Spike.

Meg Berghofer

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Meg commenced her veterinary nursing in 2021.  She has a Certificate II in Animal Studies and is currently completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.  Meg’s passion for animals started from a very young age, making veterinary nursing the perfect career choice!  Growing up on acreage property, her pets included horses, cattle, goats, chickens, dogs, birds, guinea pigs, lizards, and fish.

Meg has always had a love for all kinds of animals.  When Meg is not working, you will find her on her aunt and uncle’s beef property, riding a horse, on a dirt bike/ quad bike or just helping on the farm with the cattle.

Bec Thorogood

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Bec has always loved animals ever since she¬†was little and knew from a young age that she wanted to work with and care for them! Bec¬†took a little detour from her studies to live in a van and travel Australia with her dog ‚ÄúAnjea‚ÄĚ, cat ‚ÄúJJ‚ÄĚ and now fianc√©. They travelled for about 2 years before¬†deciding¬†the time was right to resume her studies and begin her career in the animal care industry.

Bec loves traveling, camping and game nights! (although she can be a little competitive!). Bec is also a cocktail enthusiast, picked up from her years of bar tending Рshe loves to create cocktails to go hand in hand with games nights!

Ellie

Ellie is a Border Collie Cross owned by Dr Kylie. She is very food orientated, and is the reason the food bin is locked down! She is very smart and loves her clicker training. She enjoys showing off her tricks at Kindy talks with Kylie, and really, to anyone that is holding food.

Jimmy

Jimmy is a Cattle Dog owned by Dr Kylie. He loves attention of any sort, and will happily sit with/on you and hold hands for hours!

Tipsy

Tipsy is a 3-legged amputee owned by Dr Kylie. She was rescued as a kitten. Tipsy loves to put herself all on display and pancake upside down! She may be quiet, but she is always close by Kylie and the kids! She loves running around with her soulmate, Turvy.

Turvy

Master Turvy is owned by Dr Kylie, and proudly takes the position of problem child in the fur-family! Kylie fostered Turvy for a long weekend, and he never left! He craves attention so much he loses his voice crying/looking for Kylie! Turvy has had a congenital diaphragmatic hernia repaired by Dr Erica, and pulled through like a trooper! He shares his day sleeping on all the kids beds, but loves to sleep on Kylie’s chest the most. His loud purr keeps her awake. He loves to keep Tipsy on her toes but wouldn’t be without his playmate.

Hamish

Hamish is a¬†Domestic Short Hair that Dr Erica adopted¬†as a 10-week-old kitten from an abandoned litter ‚ÄĒ she hadn’t even had her first shift when she¬†decided to take him! He is¬†very vocal and loves to chat and snuggle. Hamish is too clever for his own good ‚ÄĒ he has¬†learned to open doors if they have handles! He is the resident hunter/sock thief, but sometimes mixes it up with small toys too.

Hamish is the cheeky older brother to Rory — he kicks him off the best beds and steals his food, but does love him. Dr Erica¬†frequently finds them snuggling¬†together, playing together and grooming each other.

Rory

Dr Erica adopted Rory when he was¬†8 week olds, from another abandoned litter! He isn’t¬†much of a cuddler unless it’s cold, but loves to slink around your legs and enjoys pats. He smooches very aggressively when it’s dinner time!

Rory takes his yoga very seriously — he stretches multiple times a day, he’s the stretchiest cat Dr Erica has ever seen! Sometimes he will put his front feet on your slippers, or the egg-carton-toy on the floor, then stretch forwards, and he will go sliding down the hallway! (Known as the Stretchy-Slides in our house)

Rory also enjoys a good chat, especially if you’re unloading the dishwasher! The sound of the dishes and cutlery being put away makes for a very intense discussion! (Known as Dishwasher Chats)

Rory is usually the instigator of play time, but he tries to be sneaky about it, he will sit innocently¬†next to Hamish and then will bite Hamish’s foot! Then there is a lot of chasing and wrestling; they both love it!

Kofu

Kofu is owned by Nurse Tiffany. He is a Wolfound X Kelpie. He was adopted by Tiffany at 9years of age! Even though he is a senior he is still super active and loves to run!

Missy

Missy is owned by Nurse Tiffany, and is a Domestic Short Hair. She was a stray kitten brought into the clinic that Tiffany took home for a long weekend, and she never left. Her favourite hobby ..  sleeping!

Smoosh

Smoosh is owned by Nurse Isabella. She is the Queen of the castle and all of her humans are dirty little rascals (in her eyes). She yells for her food and won’t stop until she gets it. And if the bowl is found empty¬†again, she definitely won’t let you forget it.

Kasey

Kasey is owned by nurse Brooke. He suffers from terrible separation anxiety so he either is on her lap, touching her or cuddled up beside her. Kasey was the first word that her little girl said – and you will often find them bouncing on the trampoline together. When Brooke goes to work Kasey loves to snuggle up on her side of the bed and wait for his mummy to come home. Kasey’s trademark is that instead of barking he does his famous cry which sounds like a seal/ kookaburra/hyena.¬†

Mikey

Mikey is a 10 year old Papillon Cross. He has a ‚Äúlittle‚ÄĚ eye. He can see and is completely happy in life. Although Mikey is small, he makes his presence known!

Roxy

Roxy was adopted by nurse Brooke. Brooke always remembers how she couldn’t even pat Roxy in their first meeting, so she knew that Roxy needed the perfect home (her home). Even though sweet Roxy is guarded with new friends, she has come a long way and loves her quiet days cuddled up with Kasey at home. With a sad start to life, you will now find Roxy usually snuggled under the doona, letting nurse Brooke know when it’s dinner time or stealing secret kisses when it suits her independent personality.¬†

Patch

Patch is a pure-bred Border Collie owned by Nurse Shakirra. He loves to play fetch and will take any opportunity to herd anything in site (usually other dogs in the dog park). He also enjoys apples and carrots as a treat each morning!

Storm

Storm is an 8 year old Shepherd Cross. Nurse Melanie adopted Storm into our family in August 2021. She loves going for a walk, going to the park and absolutely loves sleeping on the couch.

Spike

Spike is a mature Galah, owned by Nurse Em. He has a huge personality and loves to give some attitude. His favourite thing to do in the morning is to throw¬†his seed onto the floor while you’re cleaning it – so cheeky!

Milo

Milo is a 5 year old Dachshund x Bulldog, owned by Nurse Em. His favourite thing in summertime is to belly flop into the pool and demand you throw his ball! If he is not playing, he is harassing his owners to be fed.

Molly

Molly is an Irish Wolfhound X, owned by Nurse Em. She’s an old girl and loves nothing more than to be constantly touched and brushed. She is very playful and enjoys the game of trying to steal shoes when you aren’t looking!

JJ

JJ is a DSH, adopted by Nurse Bec when she moved out of home because. She was on her like glue from day one and loved her time travelling in the van. She really is an adventure cat through and through, she loved scaling cliffs and exploring caves on hikes. She likes to think she’s an only child, ignoring everyone else and is quite vocal when she wants food or one of the other cats in the house walks too close to her.

Anjea

Affectionately known as Anjie, Anj or An-gigi. Nurse Bec adopted her from a pound in a coastal town while they were travelling, and she adapted perfectly to van life! She is a Kelpie X and is very food motivated, loves swimming and camping and her favourite things in the world are Bec and her partner (after food). She has turned into a little bit of a sook since they settled down in a house.
